Stress is a feeling of physical or emotional tension. It can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, or nervous.
Stress is your body’s reaction to a challenge or demand. In small episodes, stress can be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline. But when stress lasts for a long time, it can harm your health.
Types of stress
There are two main types of stress:
- Acute stress: This is short-term stress that goes away quickly. You can feel it when you hit the brakes or fight with your partner. This helps you control dangerous situations. It also happens when you do something new or exciting. All people experience acute stress at some point or another.
- Chronic stress: This is stress that lasts for a long period of time. You can have chronic stress if you have money problems, an unhappy marriage, or problems at work. Any type of stress that continues for weeks or months is chronic stress. You can get so used to chronic stress that you don’t realize it’s a problem. If you can’t find ways to manage stress, it could lead to health problems.
Stress for what?
Stress serves as a stimulus in the face of important situations, such as the loss of a loved one, financial bankruptcy or facing a wedding. It can also serve as a response mechanism, stress manifests itself in a first phase of activation or preparation of the person in front of this stimulus; then there is a period of maintenance of the state of high activity and, finally, when the situation has been overcome, a phase of exhaustion is passed in which the high activity falls sharply.
To adapt to the demands or needs, we activate the stress process that allows us to adapt and manifests itself with reactions such as speeding up thinking, employing more energetic behavior, increasing efficiency to overcome certain situations successfully. Throughout the day we can live stress without negative consequences, it can also favor an increase in self-esteem by achieving increased performance and overcoming the challenges and goals set.
However, it begins to be harmful when energy or resources expended are not recovered. If this happens, there is significant wear and tear on the body.
Virtually anything can cause stress, depending on the situation and your ability to handle it. But these are some of the most common stressors:
Employment and workplace Deadlines, demanding bosses, complicated colleagues, office policies, even harassment and discrimination in the workplace – all of these can keep you up at night worried and in fear.
Money and finances: Looming bills, credit card debt, debt collectors, identity theft, and fraud – even the act of checking your savings account balance – can all cause stress.
Disasters and trauma: Natural or man-made disasters and traumatic events can have great impacts on a person’s life.
Relationships and family: Children, divorce, separation, loneliness, and even the responsibility of caring for a family can all create stress.
Stress What causes?
Stress can cause many symptoms, both physical, psychological and emotional. Many times those affected do not relate the signs to their own stress, the most frequent are:
- Bad memory.
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Lack of energy or concentration.
- Changes in behavior.
- Mental health problems – such as anxiety or depression.
- Cardiovascular and musculoskeletal problems: when stress lasts for a long time.
- Changes in weight: generated by poor eating habits linked to stress.
- Stomach problems.
- Constant and prolonged tiredness.
- Problems at the sexual level.
- Stiff jaw and neck: which can cause headaches.
- Insomnia or excessive sleep: Difficulty falling asleep is a frequent cause of stress, affecting both the quantity and quality of sleep.
- Wear at the cellular level and aging.
Stress can be taken advantage of, it can be used as a foothold, you can transform it into something creative. But we believe that stress is negative, that it is our enemy and when you suffer from some kind of stress you get scared. And that fear, instead of helping, increases stress.
When you are stressed, use it as a creative energy. First: accept it; there is no need to fight it. Stress is simply an indication that the body is preparing to deal with a situation. Listen to it, the tea is saying something, it is pointing out something that you should observe, something that you should pay special attention to, but if you evade it, fight against it, get medical, instead of observing, there is the problem.
Even if you can’t sleep at night sometimes, there is no need to worry.
If you live your stress totally, if you listen to the signals and attend to them, if you allow yourself to go through it, relaxation will come automatically. Measure what is causing your stress, do your calculations, set achievable goals, you can get to a certain point, then the body will automatically relax. If you want to relax in the middle, you are creating a problem; the body cannot relax in the middle.

Meditation for stress
Before going to bed, prepare your rapé, sit on the bed, do your ritual, spray the medicine, now turn off the light.
