The parrot in South American tribes

Parrots were not native to North America. Also, in South American tribes, parrots appear in various tales. Parrot feathers were part of the native trade throughout Central America to the Plains Indian territory. Live birds were considered luxury pets, particularly among the Anasazi people. The Hopi, who are descended from the Anasazi, have a Parrot Kachina spirit associated with the Cardinal Direction of South. For the village tribes, parrots represented happiness and fertility.

There are prominent parrots among the animals of the clan, including the Zuni and those called Pueblo. The Pueblos have a tribal parrot dance. Petroglyphs from the same tribe reveal that the macaw parrot symbolized the rainbow, and its feathers were used as offerings to the mothers of corn, representing the colors of the corn. The parrot’s plumage also became part of the prayer sticks. In South America, the Bororo tribe considers the parrot to be a messenger of the Gods and the ancestors.

Dream of a Parrot

When you dream of a parrot, it symbolizes the fact that you are reflecting habits, characteristics and actions. These do not necessarily reflect who you are. In other words, you are repeating cycles and patterns in your life, some of which may not be positive.

If this bird is flying, it represents someone who is a people pleaser. Without any real scrutiny, this type of person does everything as instructed and believes everything without any real investigation. If this bird is caged, it symbolizes the inability to integrate lessons. These would be the lessons you see reflected through the words and actions of other people.

In some cases, this bird could symbolize a person in your waking life who is eccentric and unpleasant. It can also mean that you or someone close to you is being repetitive or teasing. Alternatively this bird can also represent the exchange of messages or gossip. Therefore, you should think twice before repeating or sharing specific information.
