JOURNEY TO THE HOUSE OF THE AWAKENING OF THE ANCESTORS
In the jungle, in the small villages of indigenous communities of the Amazon basin, there is a land known as “The house of the awakening of the ancestors”, so called because it is the sacred abode of Amazonian shamanic knowledge. Considered by many as the original belief of Humanity, since it connects us with Imunu , the common essence and mystical union of nature with the supernatural.
His Master guide is a protective shaman, also called “Kumu”. He is the great mediator, the “seer” of supernatural worlds, the one who flies to heaven and returns to earth to find different forms of gods, spirits, demons and forces. He is an agent who in his human role seeks to protect human beings from the dangers of life by reconstituting him as a person in the awakening house of his ancestors, so that he may reawaken, renewed and reconstituted.
It can also bring the Nunis , that is, the stars, which are also the spirits of Ayahuasca, a power plant that provides ecstatic, archetypal, visionary, aesthetic experiences, and that due to its psychoactive properties they are deeply transcendent for psychic awakening.
What does the shaman represent for the communities?
Therefore, the shaman is seen as a doctor, a magician, a mystical psychopomp, since he can make visionary flights to understand underlying realities and negotiate with the Spirits. He is a specialist in trance, since he leaves his body to undertake ascents to Heaven and descents to Hell. That is why his animal spirit is the jaguar, since in his anthropomorphic image he represents a duality that does not dissolve. It is shadow, carcass, body. And at the same time, it is spirit and a multiple entity, with shadows and mysteries.
Amazonian shamanism is the path of the heart that satisfies the desire to know and self-awareness. Through the states of altered consciousness produced by power plants such as Ayahuasca or Guanto, or power animals such as Kambó medicine, the participant is provided with the experience of divination, levitation, vision and transformation of our interior. Something that, without a doubt, can be tremendously healing and therapeutic for the body and soul.
Amazonian shamanism is therefore a sacred belief that connects the past and the present. It maintains the balance between Heaven and earth through a rope with the upper world that allows us to converse with the gods that live in us.
